About the Artist
Clare Samani is currently attending CSULB. She is also working towards her Bachelors in Fine Arts and is majoring in print making.
All of the artwork are dresses made in a different variety. Each and every print has a different mood to it due to the difference in colors. Based on the dress’s color, the background will help it flow together and make the printing a master piece. She made many different types of dresses with different types of colors.
This exhibit was made to show that fashion is a form of communication. Clare based some of her work on the people she knows and makes the color based on how they are. These portraits serve as an index of different clothing styles. They help expand into the complex world of self-representation, cultural and personal identity, and fashion.
When I first entered this exhibit, I noticed that all the prints were dresses. Then I saw that the name of the exhibit was called ‘Dressed’ and put the two together. I like how Clare made each print different in their own way. The prints also give off a positive vibe due to the bright colors. Overall, I enjoyed this exhibit and appreciate the work that Clare is doing.
